You need to set up a question before you can make a submission to be marked. With Marking.ai, you can create questions for your assessments quickly and efficiently. This article will guide you through adding a new question to your assessment.

There’s a couple of ways you can set up a new question. Let’s take a look at these below.

Option 1: When creating an assessment

To add a new question when creating an assessment, navigate to your ‘Your assessments’ tab and click on the assessment you want to add a question to. This will open a form where you can enter the details of your question.

Click on the three dots next to that assessment, and select ‘Edit questions’.

Fill in Question Details

In the form that appears, you'll see several fields where you can enter information about your question:

• Question: Here, you input the text of the question you want to ask.
• Total marks: Assign the number of marks this question is worth.
• Subject (Optional): Select the subject this question pertains to from a dropdown menu. If your question isn't subject-specific or if the subject isn't listed, you can leave this blank.
• Grade or year (Optional): You can specify the educational level the question is targeted towards, such as "Grade 10" or "Year 2".
• Topic: If you wish, add a specific topic that this question addresses. This could be a chapter title or a particular concept.
