We make it simple for you to easily upload your assessment and student submissions in one easy experience. We will always keep it this way to ensure that you don’t have to spend time before seeing all your marked assessments.
However, sometimes our AI isn’t able to process your assessment exactly how it needs to be set up in order to mark effectively. For example, when we process your assessment upload, it might not contain all the questions you want, or it might contain too many. We’ve come across numerous examples as to why your assessment doesn’t always mark accurately against the student’s submission.
- The assessment uploaded doesn’t contain distinct question numbers
- The assessment uploaded doesn’t contain distinct question text.
- Each question in the assessment doesn’t contain total marks for that question.
- The AI considers something else in the assessment as a question.
- The assessment contains sections with different question numbers, which makes it difficult for the AI to interpret.
- The assessment contains words as questions - this is popular when a rubric is used.
- The AI considers the marking framework or rubric as the question.
- Two or more questions individually consist of parts of the marking guide tied to a single question.
- The student is expected to choose one question out of multiple questions to answer.
How can I solve this?
If you need to mark many student submissions, it is great to review the questions in your assessment and make sure you are happy with them before making any more submissions to your assessment. Let’s have a look at how you can do this.
- Click ‘Your assessments’ on the left hand side
- Select the assessment you want to edit, and click ‘Edit questions’
