Before we begin, let’s clarify the ‘jargon’ that we use at Marking.ai.
Assessment - an assessment is the file you upload that contains the questions and marking guidelines.
Submission - A submission is the file that contains the student answers to that associated assessment
Why would you want to edit an assessment?
- Check the assessment PDF that you’ve uploaded has processed correctly - so that the assessment contains the correct number of assessments, with the correct number of marks allocated for each question.
- Check that the marking guidelines for each question are accurate and up to date, to ensure that marking accuracy is optimised.
Viewing Your Created assessments
- Access the Assessments List: Log in to your Marking.ai account. On the main dashboard, select "Assessments" from the navigation pane.
- Browse Your Assessments: You'll see a list of all the assessments you've created. Use the search function to quickly find a question by entering a keyword or topic.

Editing an assessment
Select an assessment: Find the assessment you wish to edit. You can either click the ‘View submissions’ button to view all the submissions for the assessment (see this related article) or you can click the three dots next to the assessment. This gives you the option to ‘Edit questions’ for your assessment, or if you created your assessment using a PDF upload, you can download the original assessment that you uploaded.
